Board Openings
Annually new Board openings are available to be filled by the membership. It is a privilege to serve on a Board the represents ones business interests and our collective livelihoods. I hope to hear from you.
Term Goals
This Board has several key areas of focus for the 2007—2008 term. We will be focused on enhancing agency communication with the membership. Too often our communication goes to one principal and the remaining key agency principals and management are not aware of the Boards communications and opportunities that are annually available to the Association.
Second, we will focus on Public Relations and communication with the public. We will seek to send timely press releases to local papers and comment on newsworthy events that affect our industry and local members.
Third, we will continue to get out in front of our national branding effort, Trusted Choice. Though agency/broker models are varied, we all deliver the same product with the same companies and offer what the consumer demands: professionalism, choice, customization and service. Banding together and joining the Big I’s national branding strategy is a key element of spreading the word of our value to the consumer. Fourth, we will seek to continue to grow our membership and revenue so that the Board can continue to deliver fine events and programming.

Congratulations to our 2008 Scholarship Fund Winners
Paul D'Agostino, North Salem, NY
Paul will be attending Farmingdale State College, Engineering Technology Program, to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. Both Paul and his father, Angelo, are active firefighters with the Croton Falls Fire Department.
Amanda Bassmann, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY
Amanda Bassman will be attending Scranton Universtity in Pennsylvania, majoring in Elementary Education. Her father Gregory, an active member of the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, Uniontown Hose Company #2 is their Recording Secretary as well as the Treasurer for the Exempt Firemen's Benevolent Association.
